— The Way Of The Creative (paraphrased...a little)

ABOUT

I've worked in film and television production for over forty years and I’ve noticed a few things along the way.

3rd: Everything Speaks.  …EVERYTHING!  And just like with words, speaking visually has good ‘n’ bad grammar & pronunciation. Of course, you can always bend ‘n’ break the rules...so long as you know the rules you’re bendin’ & breakin’.

2nd: They say there are no small parts; only small actors.  Same goes for productions and producers…which is why we elevate every production we touch. If it’s worth making, then it’s worth making with some kinda extra secret sauce.

1st: Do what you love with people you respect for reasons that matter.

When I look back over my 2000+ productions, one theme jumps out: I love to work with purpose driven clients to create values/mission driven stories.

There's something irresistible about creating works that benefits the lives of others; elevate their circumstances; connects them with communities, initiatives, services or products that offer solutions to their needs.

Over the years, my productions have connected with millions of viewers. They’ve raised awareness and they’ve raised hundreds of millions of dollars in business investments and NPO donations.

They have also won dozens of top industry awards.  I never set out to make an award winning productions, but when you create a thing from a place of love, respect and passion for the project, it will resonate with your audience and (apparently) with the judges, too.

A Version of History Part II

Dane started in production as a teenager crewing on a syndicated weekly program airing on CBS in the 70’s and 80’s. The show was so poorly produced that he only ever refers to it as… "The Show Whose Name Shall Never Be Uttered."

By the mid 80’s he’d opened a boutique FX and animation house catering to TV and direct-to-video productions.

From the 90’s on, he was writing & producing international documentaries, political ads, fundraisers for NPOs, TV pilots as well as a few specials for BRAVO Channel.  And all this whilst being Canadian!

He now lives and works in Pensacola, Florida (he followed a girl) where he produces AWARD WINNING Cinematic Narratives (geez...talk about pretentious) for almost anyone who’ll almost pay him…typically ad agencies and branding firms.

And thankfully, he's been able to continue producing mission driven work for clients (and clients of clients) who share his same drive for doing well by doing good.

…and having fun doing it!
